Founded by passionate animal lovers and staunch advocates of animal rights, The Rescue House is a beacon of compassion dedicated to the humane care and support of wildlife. Our journey is led by Nel, a native of South Africa whose deep-rooted connection with the diverse wildlife of the region has fueled her commitment to preserving and protecting these incredible creatures.
Our Founder’s Roots: A Journey from South Africa to the United States
Nel, the heart and soul of The Rescue House, was born and raised in the breathtaking landscapes of South Africa. Surrounded by the rich biodiversity of the African continent, Nel developed an early appreciation for the wonders of the natural world and the importance of coexisting with its inhabitants.
In 2001, Nel’s journey took her across continents as she relocated to the United States. Armed with a wealth of experiences from her South African upbringing, she brought with her a profound sense of responsibility towards wildlife and a vision to create positive change in the treatment and conservation of animals. This is where Kirk’s path intersected with hers.
